The attack is bad enough, but the reporting was so sad its almost funny.

1.Frozen paint? myth
2.It it was frozen it somehow "white paint splurged on her chest"???
3. "I don’t see a frozen paintball any different from a bullet,” the woman said. How bout she got a bruse not a bullet hole.

What. The. Literal. Fuck.

Something's missing from this story. She was rushed to the hospital because she got shot with a paintball in the chest? Because the area immediately turned black and blue? I wonder how that 911 call went down

"HELP MY DAUGHTER'S FRIEND GOT SHOT WITH A PAINTBALL!!"

"Ma'am, calm down. Is she conscious?"

"YES, BUT THE PLACE WHERE SHE GOT SHOT IS ALL BLACK AND BLUE!!! POOR BABY GOT THE WIND KNOCKED OUT OF HER! FROZEN PAINTBALLS ZOMG!!!1!!1!"

"It's called a bruise, ma'am."

"YOU GOTTA SEND AN AMBULANCE THIS IS SERIOUS!!!!!"

You didn't die, stop over-reacting. Sure the people who did it should be apprehended, but a trip to the hospital is a little excessive for being shot with a "frozen paintball" (and i love how they just assume it's frozen, like they had a thermometer they just pulled out at the minute it happened. "OH, THEY'RE FROZEN FOR SURE!"

How would you know it was frozen? It isn't right to do but the facts are exaggerated.

Wow that's fricking bullcrap!! A real bullet would leave you to die, and even if you could freeze paintballs they would hurt less than a non-frozen paintball. People these days! And the girl apparently got the "Wind knocked out of her." I could understand maybe for like a small girl but if she's at least like 7 I don't think that would happen. "I don’t see a frozen paintball any different from a bullet,” jeepers she needs to know what a bullet really is.

It wasn't accelerating either, since that's physically impossible.

While it wasn't acting like they described, technically it was accelerating, just in a negative direction relative to the direction of motion.

I also like how there's no comments to be seen anywhere on the article, even though I know there's been a few left. Guess they can't handle criticism of any kind.

Someone should take her out to the paintball field. I am curious what would happen...

I personally hate white fill paint, hard to see breaks with it at a distance, and just looks nasty my local shop insists of always ordering a few cases of white fill every time.

It is only accelerating from 0-300fps as you understand it whilst in the barrel. Clearly, his statement is about how the paintball is acting right before it struck the girl. In either case, you're half right in that it is accelerating. However it is a negative acceleration, opposite from the direction it is traveling causing it to slow down.

While this isn't a physics discussion, the ball has achieved maximum velocity when it reached the end of the barrel. It was definitely not accelerating into her chest, it had already reached it's max speeds and was slowing down due to air resistance. Regardless it's still shoddy reporting.
