I have a autococker that i converted into a pump. I dont know where i should adjust the velocity, i have a theory but i have no chrono so im asking fellow techpb'ers.

I think i should take of the cocking rod and adjust it there?

Seems pretty inconveint for at the feild.

help required :)

Ummm try turning the velocity adjustment screw on the reg. Depending on the reg its probably through the bottom or sometimes on the side

don't listen to this guy^

Try sweetspotting your reg: http://cockertech.ne...-achowsweetspot

if you don't have access to a chrono currently (like you said) then I would turn the IVG in about 2 -3 turns, then adjust the reg til you're getting decent velocity. If you don't know the IVG is the little brass screw under your backblock. The cocking rod goes right through it and into the hammer. IVG stands for Internal Velocity Governor and it basically adjusts how hard the hammer hits the valve. Once you sweetspot your reg you should only use the IVG for fine tuning after that.

Ideally I would wait until I could get to a field and set it all up properly with a chrono.
