Of the two listed which would be a better option

TiPX or BT SA-17 please list pro and cons. I don't want a t8.1 so please don't suggest it thanks guys.

I'll be using the pistol as a primary gun. If this helps any

i used a tipx and a t8.1 during living legends 5, and have played rec ball with a bt17 style marker regularly

first thing i would recommend, bring a normal marker as well, pistol play is well and good, but it is not for even a small fraction of everyone during an entire 2 day scenario event full of fully geared players.

tipx:

pros:
apparantly regulated, which is a big plus
compact
light
has ability for remote line ( something i may recommend at scenario, 12 gram changing on tipx is not exactly fun or cost effective)
shoot well
look good
magazines cheap

cons:
12 gram changing involves unscrewing front of marker, popping out old, inserting new, re screwing, and pulling trigger to puncture new co2
only holds 7 balls
in my personal experience (with 3 different tipx markers) fps takes a dive during rapid fire.
more expensive, which may or may not be important to you.
tippmann barrel threading (a5 i beleive)

BT SA-17
pros:
holds 10+ balls
available rifle kit allows it to run hopper, bottomline, and cocker threaded barrels (or a mix, ie 10 round w/ tank and barrel etc)
cheaper
10 round tubes and harness comparable to magazine cost
rifle kit allows you to play at less of a disadvantage, more like having a 98c, if you dont already have something similar.
cons:
12g changing even worse then tipx
slower to reload (personal)
less air efficient then tipx
no regulation
inconsistant




my verdict, the tipx is hands down, far and away the PISTOL i would use, the bt-sa17 offers some interesting versatility but it is not the better of the two pistols

note to above, this is all because you dont want a Tiberius i sold the tiberius i received, and had bad experiences with it from the get go, but tiberius had amazing customer support, and during ll5 the tiberius tech probably spent 4 hours rebuilding that gun a dozen times with all new orings and parts etc. i got a lemon, but their customer service was amazing.

I've had Tibs and TPXs and still own a SA-17. I prefer the 17 for the reasons you mentioned. It's starting to die on me from use but its been good to me and I've got my $75 I paid for it out of it for sure.

With the right harness and load plan, you can play any scenario.

i personally own an sa-17
it may be a bit heavier but from my experiences its quite accurate.
if you get the rifle kit its basically two markers in one.
you can use it as a main gun when you need to or strip it down to a pistol when you need to.
