I really want to get a knowledge base on how everything works, because I want to be able to Tech the local markers, and be able to make some small income from it.

Poppet AND Spoolie info would be nice, but I'd accept only poppet, as that's my personal preference.

It may sound somewhat noobish, but What happens between the trigger pull, and the ball leaving the barrel?

EDIT, I'm referring to Electros, not Mechs/pumps/etc...

Basically, pulling the trigger activates the micro-switch, which tells the board that you want to shoot. Let's say that the eyes are working, and there is a ball in the breech. The board activates the solenoid. The solenoid routes the air to drive the hammer forwards, it strikes the poppet valve, and air is released through the bolt, and down the barrel propelling the paintball. When the dwell time has elapsed, the solenoid switches back (or in the case of a FASOR, it switches off) and resets the bolt back to the open position, ready to fire another shot.

you pull the trigger the microswitch completes a circuit on the board.
This energizes the noid circuit for a specific time determined by your dwell time.
The juice that just went into the noid activates an electromagnet coil around a a spool in the noid, if its a mac noid then that spool controls the air going to your ram (Poppet) or bolt (spool), if its a humphrey style noid then the spool thats energized by the coil allows air to activate a large spool which then controls the air in the sysyem.
Then is splits for spool or poppet.
Poppet:
Ram moves forward and hits the valve
valve opens lets air into the bolt and then the ball
valve closes
ball leave barrel
board stops telling the noid to be on
nodi turns off and the ram goes to the back

Spool:
bolt moves forward
air holes in bolt or bolt pin clear
air is released onto ball
ball exits barrel
board stops telling noid to be on
noid turns off and bolt goes back

I wont cover cockers and other guns which use two noids.
