The main problem with laptops, is that almost everything is integrated, which means everything is on one cheap. The main problem with that is that not only can you not upgrade stuff, if one thing goes wrong, you have to replace that entire chip. And that entire chip generally costs more than a new laptop. That's what I like about desk tops. Graphics card dies? Buy a new graphics card for $20-400. If the graphics card on your laptop dies, buy a new laptop for $500-1500.
