Best way to join a team is to go to fields and get yourself known by teams.

Just to reiterate what was said, start going down to fields when they have practice days or walk-on airball days. From my experience, there are quite a few good teams in the Austin area to work with. Most teams from my experience will look into picking up new talent if they're committed to coming to practices and helping around even when not directly asked to. If they see promise, they may outright pick you up, but in many cases it might take some time to get noticed. Stay committed, and you'll find a team in no time.
