Exalt Launch Geo 2/2.1 Bolt

I just got my stock bolt back from Pooty, but this looks pretty interesting. Here's the description:

Fits: Planet Eclipse Geo 2 & 2.1

Launch your game to the next level with the new Exalt Launch Bolt for the Geo 2/2.1

Be soft on paint, hard on opponents!

Improved consistency & reduced recoil will be sure to get your paint on target. The soft touch bolt tip allows you to use the most brittle paint so it breaks on your opponent not in your gun.

STBT (Soft Touch Bolt Tip)
Super Soft on Paint
Eliminates Ball Rollback
Reduces Ball Clipping

Reduced Mass
Reduces recoil

High Flow Airpath
Increases Consistency

I love it when companies claim "better consistency," as if a stock Geo 2 is somehow so inconsistent that you'd notice it when putting a new bolt in.

How dare you question the value of upgrades.

Yeah it looks interesting, just have to wait for someone to put up a video and see if it'll be worth it. It'd be nice if they just posted test results.

Also, I wonder if this could be polished further like the stock bolt.

Exalt says it will fit and cycle in all Geos, but it may not have all the advertised benefits when not used in a Geo 2.

Quote

While this bolt may fit & "work" within a Geo3, the stock Geo3 bolts do have different dimensions then Geo2. The Exalt Launch Geo2/2.1 may not have all of the performance gains desired when used in a geo3.

We cannot guarantee or recommend that this bolt will work as intended in any marker other then the Geo2/2.1.

Because of the response from Geo3 owners we intend to release a Geo3 version.

I didnt realize the geo 2s had a problem with being too hard on paint to where you would need a soft face bolt.

They're not that bad on paint, I've had a few breaks but only when it's really cold out and I'm not using winter paint. To me this seems like a response to the Geo 3's stock soft-tipped bolt. Why else would someone wait until after the 3's release to put out something for the Geo 2?

thats the only experience ive had with paint chopping as well, we had a big game at our field and the we were using the left over tourney paint and the temp dropped way down, other then that it never broke paint.

Looks cool, but seems like another one of those unnecessary "ups"

As far as I'm concerned the only thing "wrong" with the 2/2.1 is the efficiency, and a new bolt isn't going to get 4+ pods.

I've always been a huge fan of Exalt products, but this is probably the first thing they have released that makes me wonder. Although I will admit, I am a consumer at heart, if I still had a Geo2 I'd probably get one to try.

On the efficiency note, I just got my bolt Pooty polished. Before the polishing I was shooting 295, and after I was up at 310-315. I was able to lower the dwell to 13 and turn the pressure down so I was shooting 295 again. I'm sure if you kept the pressure up and just lowered the dwell to 10 or so you could get some decent numbers. I may set up an efficiency test to see what I can get. But also, I'm wondering if you polish this new bolt, could you pull even higher numbers? Providing that what Exalt claims is fairly accurate, of course.

Isn't exalt owned by PE? So they are really just releasing a geo 3 soft touch bolt for the geo 2/2.1? I would rather see something that makes more efficiency than preventing that one in a million ball break
