Get different ram. I got 8gb of DDR3 1333mhz ram with a class 4 8gb sd card (all patriot so name brand) for $40 on sale. I just saw a deal on new egg right now for 8gb 1600mhz ram for $40. What are you going to be using this computer for? 8 cores is overkill. Unless whatever program you're using is optimized for it the extra cores just sit there. I'd suggest getting an intel ivy bridge processor, which would need a different motherboard, but if you want to stick with amd get the Phenom 2 x4 965. This CPU http://www.newegg.co...N82E16819116501 with this Mobo http://www.newegg.co...N82E16813128502 and you're golden. You shouldnt need that big of a power supply. This would be overkill alone http://www.newegg.co...N82E16817139015 you'd be able to crossfire 7950's on that. Also have you thought of upgrading to a blueray drive instead of a normal cd/dvd? Or adding extra monitors with any money you save? Maybe getting a SSD too for the programs you use a lot? Their price isnt too bad anymore http://www.newegg.co...N82E16820148442

And yes I realize prices will be slightly different since I'm in the US but they shouldnt be too different.

Cut out the power supply vibration dampener, you wont need it. Power supplies don't vibrate that much, not enough enough where you will be able to hear or notice it.

I would say get a different PSU and probably a different case.. the v3 is kinda on the cheap side from what ive seen and heard..
The PSU is the same as the Antec Quattro 1200, and its kinda stupid, you have large power caches on each of the cables, and only one small bad cooling fan in the back.. its got an 80mm in back ratehr then a 120/140mm on the bottom/top

I would also probably suggest going Intel, the AMD bulldozer line is really just terrible in terms of performance.. An older phenom2 x6 can perform better then the 8core bulldozers..

If you plan on gaming, all you really need is an i5 http://www.newegg.co...N82E16819116504. Go with some cheaper ram http://www.newegg.co...N82E16820231608. And if you want the ram to have heat spreaders http://www.newegg.co...N82E16820231556. Also it might be a good idea to add some fans to that build. It seems your chosen case only comes with one.

16gb is alot of ram... unless hes doing heavy renderings and multiple programs like that at the dsame time..
8 gigs of 1600mhz is good enough for what you need

Only suggested 16 due to that is the amount he had originally listed. I do agree however that 8 is enough for just about any task.

Bingo, without this, we really can't say if it'll be good enough, or not good enough for what you want to do.

As with the other posters, we really need to know what you plan to use it for. If you say surfing the web, itunes, and youtube I will tell you to buy the cheapest computer you can get, because even the cheapest computer you can get with today's hardware outpaces the requirements for basic computing.

The burner you picked out is nice, since if you ever plan to make XBOX 360 backups you will be set. The newer XGD3 type discs are slightly larger than your typical DL DVD, and you need to flash a iHAS with custom firmware to write the new games. You may or may not have any intention on doing that, but if you are, that drive will come in handy.

Personally, I think that video card is overkill. I can't even begin to think of how much money I have wasted in the years I was a gamer on cutting edge video cards. They depreciate and go obsolete as fast as a new vehicle. I remember spending $500 on the GeForce 3 when it first was released because they said you would need it to play Doom 3 due to the new integrated T&L and what not. The game specs continuously changed and by the time the game came out the card couldn't handle it and I sold the card for like $20. If it were me, even on a gaming rig, I would spend maybe $200-250 on a video card which will get you more than decent performance. Also, if you get a motherboard that supports SLI, Crossfire, or another multi card technology, you can always get two cheaper cards instead of one expensive one, and you can start with one and add another down the road if the one isn't cutting it.

This is all just my opinion though, so take it however you like. Good luck!

except for the fact a 2500k can be better then any of the new bulldozers... if he found like a 1090t/1100t that would be pretty good, those were better then the bulldozers..

"you can always get two cheaper cards instead of one expensive one, and you can start with one and add another down the road if the one isn't cutting it."

No.... It's proven that a better/more expensive video card is better than two cheap (one 6970>two 6850).

Also, you only need 8GB of RAM.

Swap seagates for a WD (that's personal preference, but WD have a better track record).

FX for an i5 3570K and a Gigabyte 1155 Z77 UD3 mobo

Better case (CM Storm Stryker/Switch 810 are my choices).
And different PSU
Also remove the PSU vibrator reductions thing, high end cases have that.

2 GPU's in crossfire just gives you problems. I would recommend getting a single high-end card instead of 2 mid-end cards. In a couple of years you can always get another card.

EDIT: What are you going to use the PC for? Gaming? Video/photoediting?
For gaming I would recommend a Intel processor like the 3570K. And if your not going to do some extreme overclocking!

High level gaming trying to get the computer to last at least 5 years before I need an upgrade anything big oh I also pick 16 gigs of ram seeing as how fast computers programs are starting to increase in power might as well get a head start

And anything else I find myself into hell last week I was host a private server for a online game and I love to dink around with game programming making 3D models when I'm bored just randoms stuff that keeps me entertained

Take others suggestions but if your using amd use the asus crosshair v formula board to overclock and get a cheaper processor or stick with the same one.
