Unless your going used I would suggest putting this in the VS. forum or the equipment advice forum. These are mid-end guns that cost $500.

efficiency - fx
quality - fx (all metal but it is a personal preference)
consistency - tie
customer service - etek (PE is such a huge company)
packaging - etek
maintainance - tie
overall i prefer the fx.
you get $500 going into the gun and not the packaging
if having a gun case really matters to you that much just carry around the fx's box.
i hope this helps

Why?
A big reason for me was that my local proshop owner can tech either marker since he sells both DP and PE markers and carries parts for them.
At that point, it cam down to the merits of the individual markers.
For me, the biggest deciding factor was price. I was able to get an FX new, for $400.00.
However, one thing I would like to point out is that both markers are very similar. The only real differences are that the FX is a little more efficient, has an OLED, and has a little bit more vibration as you fire it. However, if the issue is that you cannot control the marker as it fires due to that bit of vibration... you may be in the wrong sport.
So, at that point, go with the marker you like better, alright?
