In getting about a hopper for 1000 psi on a 50/4500, i have the Techt bolt and the QEV dwell is set at ~15 is that bad?

Is it a sharp ping? If it is, it's usually just the bolt cycling. As said before try lowering your dwell, BUT use a chroney while doing so, keep going lower and lower until your consistancy takes a hit and go back up one and shoot a pod or a stream. Chances are if it's your dwell it should be an easier fix.

Its about right.

An Extcy gets 6.5ish pods off a 68/4500. On your tank that equates to 700 shots, which is about 155 per 1000psi.

Purely theoretical obviously, real world numbers will differ.

If you have a qev and a techt bolt, you should be able to lower your dwell down to almost 7 with no real drop off. Also, where is the leak coming from? If it is with your first marker shot you might need to adjust your fsdo settings . I know on the extcy board you have a seperate dwell value for fsdo, which stock is 40, i believe. You can lower that to about 15-20 with a quv and the techt bolt

dont know where it is leaking but it's not the bolt orings cause its leaking on the stock bolt also.. but ill turn that setting down

I used to own an extcy and that actually sounds about right for the efficiency. It's a spool, it happens. Messing with dwell may or may not make a noticeable difference. But who knows, with your aftermarket bits it probably will. A "ringing" isn't really typical of a leak. Leaks sound very sharp and high pitched normally.
