So I'm supposed to be doing an essay on immigration, then a 6 page paper on Joan of Arc, as well as dreaded AP Statistics homework due at 12. But what am I actually doing? I'm sitting here, switching from the forums, to Mike's videos on youtube, to staring behind me at my gun, then looking at the picture I posted on facebook of that same gun, then to ANSgear to look up guns and stuff for my current gear. When I run out of things to do, I choose a gun from the ones on ANSgear, then youtube reviews on it, hoping that theres one made by Mike. Then I check Facebook for any likes on my post. Then I go and think about what gun should I get next. That brings me back to the forums. When I'm done browsing the topics on the "__vs__" section, I look at the B/S/T's for any guns I can buy. I find a new one that is oldish that I havent fully researched yet. And that brings me to google/youtube. I then return to the forums to wail out decent paintball advice in the "equipment advice" section or the Newbies Section. I get bored of that, then I go to craiglist and look for those guys who sell perfectly good Angels for 200 bucks.
Next day, I play paintball in the morning. I see all the rich kids with their fancy guns, and ask them if I can try one of them. They let me, and I am in awe of the Luxe that I just played a game with. Then I get the idea that when I come home, I will look up the Luxe even more. And the process repeats. For hours and hours, days and days, weeks and weeks, months and months.

Paintball Addiction?
Discuss.

This is exactly what I do. It wastes SO much time, but I enjoy it. It's a good waste of time.

I don't waste time so much, its money. Its absolutely necessary to have £1000's worth of gear you'll use 8 times a year at most.

I used to be the same way, but now I'm starting to wind down and stick with the only three guns I've owned that I haven't wanted to trade or sell shortly after I bought them (my Automag, Model 98, and Micro-Phantom).
For a while, I switched to researching cars for hours on end until I finally settled on my Subaru (which I'm so glad I did). Now all that time researching and perusing is spent on firearms (I'm really excited about the .22 I'm building) and a little bit of longboards (My ex got me back into it :P ). So. although its no longer paintball, I'm still quite addicted and frequently distracted into researching things in a similar manner.

Oh my god, I forgot to add in watching every single paintball tournament match 2008+ constantly, dreaming of doing that right now.

Never been one for the tournament scene and can happily say I haven't seen any.

It wastes time that I could spend on being productive, but I choose to sit on my ass, and browse the forums instead.

I'm at the point where I don't want to look at gear, because I already have too much and know more is on the way.

False. Enmy's are mech Ions, therefore a true experienced player thinks they are awesome and would love to have one.

Yeah. I was one of the first people to get the enmey, and it is by far the most unique gun and stirs up the most hype from mostly experienced players at my field than any other gun. By the way, this is Orange Chicken

Not true.
Try and tell me no experienced player would use this because it's just a mech and therefore, sucky.

I'd like to think I'm a somewhat experienced player, and I can do quite well with a mech Cocker or a pump. There's nothing "sucky" about them.

Mechs, as the ones known to the common casual player that maked up a good majority of the sport, consists of spyders, tippmanns, and clones of both. Maybe they have heard of an autococker, but those are old and are misinterpreted by newer crowds. Automags are almsot unheard of, and everything else is an obscure world. To experienced players however, we like two types of guns: Guns for serious or competitive play, built around solely winning, and novelty guns that are unique. The enmey for me was a novelty gun, and my attention whoring gun. To a beginner/monthly/occassional player, its just a mech, and if it isnt an electro by any means, then it =\= good.
I know this first hand. I go to the field weekly, and theres groups of people from my school who come out and play every few monthes or so, for an ocassion and whatnot. Theres some who go a tad bit more often than others, and own their own gun, which is a tippmann or spyder. They always wonder why I sometimes take out a mech, or use a borrowed pump, because it seems too "sucky and cheap" for a guy who plays as often as me.
