Google is your friend. Search "Free typing tutor" and see what you find.

I honestly can't recommend any program over another being I have forgotten what program I learned with although I can remember that Mavis Beacon was a total shit excuse for a typing tutor program.

Just practice, use a chat, like the tech pb chat, and just talk to people for awhile, get used to where the keys are, and you'll be good.

That's what I did with another chat atleast

I used to type properly, but I don't have enough manual dexterity for it, so I started hunting and pecking. People are amazed at how quickly I can type with only using my two index fingers. Occasionally I do throw in a few fingers here and there, but I do the majority of all of my typing with my index fingers.

I learned to type waaay back in middle school. Most useful class ever. :P I'm around 80-85 words per minute with about 95% percent accuracy. (I get bored and test myself online from time to time.)

Just keep your index fingers on the F and J keys (because that's what the little bump on those two keys are for. And when they do hit another key just bring them back to the F and J keys.

Don't look at the keyboard.

Typing correctly slows me down 20+ WPM.

I know exactly where all the keys are so I can just type instantly with whatever finger is closest.

Too often, we loose sight of life's simple pleasures. Remember, when someone annoys you it takes 42 muscles in your face to frown. BUT, it only takes 4 muscles to extend your arm and bitch-slap that motherfucker upside the head

in short the best typing program is the one that teach you to keep you fingers on the home keys (asdf jkl; ) and to never look at your fingers while typing , when i learned to type the keyboard was below the desk so i could not see the keyboard while typing when you first learned there was a picture of the keyboard directly above the actual keyboard that eventually got covered up as you progressed. As a kid i hated it but i effortlessly type over 50 words a minute now without even really working at it or practicing

In school i learned to type using "Type To Learn." Not sure if it's free or where to get it, but you should definitely look into it. I could type above 80 words per minute by 6th grade with it.
