So, I was driving home, and there's a small highway section off the freeway about a minute from my apartment.

I was in the left lane, but needed the right to make my exit. There was a huge group of industrial vehicles (big trucks, regular trucks, so on) so I decided to speed up to pass them, so I had to speed for a little bit to get past them.

As soon as I get to the end, motorcycle State Patrol guy pulls me over. Going 69 in a 55. Fucking dammit.

Pulled over a minute from my fucking apartment. He only charged me for going 5 over, though. So $93 instead of $180. Still shitballs.

I drive an ex-police car so I deal with slow cars all the time. People slow down 5 sometimes 10 below speed limit when they're in front of me.

That's funny. This guy down the street from me bought an old cruiser and parked it in his yard to get people to slow down. It's funny to see people slow WAY down because of it.

I live in a neighborhood full of cops. No speeders through here.

They help, but being a criminal Justice major I've learned that there are a few ways cops can get around the detectors. My professor is an ex-police office and he used to catch people with them all the time. It's pretty simple really, They just keep the radar off until they see you flying by... then they turn it on and bam! They have your ass.

Also keep in mind if you get pulled over and the officer sees you have a radar, your pretty much guaranteed a ticket. Cops hate radars lol

You can get a ticket for going over the limit by 5? Wow, in Canada we have a tolerance of 5-10Km/h :D :P

In most places you can go 5mph over, and 10mph on the highway. I depends on the cop. But I hope you realize that 5mph differs from 5kmh.

Lol, I do know the difference between 5Km/h and M/h, but he just said speeds so I started thinking in KM/h.

69 in a 55 is a little high. Cops around here are usually tolerant of 70 in a 65 but anymore than that and you are pulled over.

On base, if you are going any more than 3 over, you get pulled over. Off base, though, if you are going any slower than 30 over, you get pulled over for "obstruction of traffic flow", aka going too slow.

5 over? well in new hampshire if you are under 21 you have to go to court, take a defensive driver course that doesn't help you on insurance at all, and you insurance will go up $50ish bucks a month.
