Cause the girl I'm going with is gonna be catwoman. I found a costume online and ran it by my parents to make sure they weren't surprised when it came in the mail (cause they freak out sometimes at things like that). But when I said "mom i found a batman costume online I'm gonna buy it" Mind you, with my own money, I get "No, absolutely not"

"why not?"

"That would be in very bad taste"

THANKS A LOT JAMES FUCKING HOLMES, YOU JUST TAKE A GOOD THING AND RUIN IT.

So now, since my parents associate Batman with a theater shooting, they're saying no to the batman costume.

Dafuq. Holmes wasn't even dressed up like batman (which my parents thought he was)

Am I in the wrong here?

And just be Robin.

Did you try explaining why you want to dress up as batman?

Well, technically yes, 17, but I still respect my parents and tell them when I'm gonna have stuff delivered.

BUT NOOO ROBIN DOESN'T GET THE GIRL

also I should probably clear this up, I'm only planning on wearing this to a party, not go door to door with the costume.

And to TK, well I told them that I really liked the movie and I look up to batman as a hero and a father figure. But they didn't buy it. So i might have to tell them the truth.

Is there seriously a rant about how someone can't be Batman for Halloween?

Did I fall asleep and wake up in the Twilight Zone? Is Rod Sterling going to start monologing about how everyone in the world wants to be batman, but then Halloween comes, and people find out they can't take the costumes off, now no one wants to be Batman?

Yea, I'm gonna buy it regardless. I told my dad and he understands (YEAAAAAA BUDDY) but my mom is weird about that kinda stuff. Then they made me ask her to ask her parents if they'd be offended, they said they wouldn't be, so it's all good. I don't know, I wasn't as much upset about the fact that I might not get to be batman, I was more just pissed off at how they automatically associate batman with a movie theater murder. It was a really good movie. They didn't even see it. This is why I hate ignorance. After they said "the guy had a cape!" I looked it up and I found this quote: "He was dressed in black and wore a gas mask, a load-bearing vest, a ballistic helmet, bullet resistant leggings, a throat protector, a groin protector and tactical gloves. Initially, few in the audience considered the masked figure a threat. He appeared to be wearing a costume, like other audience members who had dressed up for the screening."

Nowhere in there does it say he dressed up as batman.
In fact, sources say he dyed his hair red to be like the Joker. Who is, batman's enemy, if we really want to play this game. So in this case batman would be representative of all things good and anti-James Holmes.

Your parents need to learn a strong lesson on not giving a fuck about other people. Batman is a hero. Just because some crazy shot up people at a batman screening doesnt mean its bad.

Why don't you switch roles with your girl?
She be batman and you be Catwoman. That way, everyone's happy and you're also bound to be the talk of the entire party.

I have a bacon costume, no joke. Came with and egg costume too because it is a couples costume... Not that the other one would ever see any use :(

The ultimate truth in paintball is that the interaction between the gun and the player is far and away the largest factor in accuracy, consistency, and reliability.

See, if I told my dad that I had a girlfriend in the first place I would get anything I needed.

Isn't that common? for your father to think you're *banmeplzktx* until you show that you're not?
Or is that just me.

(obviously sarcastic remarks)
