Poppets work year round in almost any weather. (Unless the weather is like -400 Fahrenheit)

Modern spools tend to work fine in cold weather as long as you use a thin lube.

• Are you using electros or mechanicals? Winter is the best time to go low-tech and bring the mechs out. Automags, Tippmanns and pumps.
• If you go electro, fresh batteries, and extras on you, and keep them warm if possible.
• Most grease is good to lower temps, but check and make sure. Even some oils become a little tacky in the extreme cold.
• Winter paint. Yes, it's expensive. Yes, it's like being shot with a crayon. Yes, it will not turn into a slushy nightmare of cr@p in your loader and marker.
• The right clothing. Keep warm, dress in layers, and some kind of wicking under-layer is a must. Gloves, a tuque, good socks and boots, and bring an extra pair of socks and gloves if you can.
• Goggle fans. Condensation will fog, then freeze on the inside of your lens. Goggle ventilation moves the warm, moist air out, keeps you fog (and thereby frost) free.
• Thermal pads. Little Hotties, Hot Shots, whatever they're named, they're the boot and glove warming little chemical heat pads. Bring them and use them, your fingers and toes will thank you.
• The good sense God gave you. If you are really cold, go inside and warm up. If you get too hot, peel off a layer. If you feel a chill, add a layer. Having half your ear turn black from frostbite and being amputated is how God tells everyone you're a retard...

I love Winter ball; some of the best woodsball I've ever played. If it's -15C or colder, I try to play only about the middle 4-5 hours of the day between -2 and -10 is ideal (for me at least). Enjoy.
