So I recently aquired an old ACI Maverick for $30, and I'm wondering if I could turn it into a bolt action. Would I need to do a lot of milling, welding etc, and how would I go about having a fixed grip over my barrel? I'm basically begging for help here. :P
What do I need to do? If anyone has done this and has ANYTHING to offer, that would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

what type of bolt action? do you want a woodstock or some other type? A maverick is actually very easy to convert since it is already a pump with female threads on the bolt

That's probably exactly what he meant.

Yes it can be done. Whether you can do it depends on your skill set and access to tools.

Well i'm actually going to, with the help of my dad, make a stock out of stainless or aluminum that will attach to the ASA mount. Considering that said dad also works in a shop, I have a lot of tools to work with. I'm not too bad with the tools. I'm a long way away from being an expert though.

Contact DannyD. He's made really nice Bolt-action rifles before.

Using a gun that's been hardly maintained and tossed from person to person more than a village whore is hardly a fair way to compare the marker.
