I've heard of stuff like that. Turns on full auto, or turns up bps. Then when you hand it to the ref for them to test it, they don't have the magnet or what ever, so the board shoots legal for them.

if you tried this, wouldnt it just screw up the electronics of the gun? kinda like putting magnets on your cell phone?

No, magnets are commonly found in electronics. The magnets could pull a reed switch, completing a circuit to change a mode on a board.
