When I started air bunkers were not prevalent quite yet. Most speedball took place on Hyperball fields and I enjoyed it. I played nearly weekly at a field in Mississauga called Paintball City that had a great Hyperball field. I moved away from Mississauga many years ago and never gone back but found on there web site that that great fun field is now switched to air bunkers just like every speedball field in this province in seams. Though I see the benefits of air bunkers (ie. safety and changeability) I must say I never have truly liked them. Nothing short of cheating and poor sportsmanship drives me up the wall more than deflating bunkers. Hyperball was fun the field was not changing through the day as bunkers slowly lost air. One side did not have an advantage over the other if one side had bunkers with better seals or leaking repairs.

Am I the only one that misses the old Hyperball fields.

I for one am the first to start complaining when bunkers start loosing their pep.

Luckily I have both woods fields and airball at my venue of choice so I start the day off playing airball and wind down in the woods.
Come for my guns and I will gladly give you my bullets.

hate it when their is poor maintenance on them and their constantly deflating.

But I'm with you Tiny, I'd take Hyperball 10x over speedball all day everyday.

I actually prefer air bunkers to hyperball bunkers. With airball you don't have to worry about scraping your gun up against the bunker, or diving into one and hurting yourself. The way paintballs behave when hitting an elastic bunker also adds an interesting element to the game.

As long as I'm slinging paint I honestly couldn't care less what the bunkers are made from.

I like playing on a different layout, and the refs at my field are really good about keeping them inflated.

I would think so, but the wooden bunkers at Disruptive make me wary because I dont want to scratch my anno.

It's paintball. It's gonna get scratched. If its not scratched your not playing hard enough. Getting your marker annoed is like getting a paint job for the car you just entered into a demo durby

No. Not it isn't. Off roading would be a better comparison, and generally you don't scratch the paint off of your car from going through a few branches.

Missing the point lol. Paintball is a high impact rough sport. From what I read anno can get expensive. Why spend that kind of money on something like that?

No it's the anodizing on the marker. Thet are already annoed, and it sucks to get them scratched.

The only impact that is happening is with the paintballs, which does nothing to your marker. Other than that, your marker really doesn't notice when you slide it on grass in a dive.

Maybe it's just me that gets scratches then. My last marker was all scratched up from playing. Possibly because I don't baby my markers on the field. Off the field I treat them like gods lol.

You guys are lucky to have grass. Good Disruptive Paintball on youtube. That ground is what I have to deal with.
