What are you looking for in a marker?

I would suggest a Luxe 1.0 with a pooty core or a Bob Long G6R (2012), or an Empire Axe.

Make sure you buy a great mask, tank, and loader before you even think about buying a marker.

The first question is, do you already have a good loader, pod pack, mask, etc.

Nope, I gotta start all over again. I don't have any equipment just money, I'm just getting into the sport and bought an omega. I sold that because its too heavy and I've decided to get into speed ball. I'd also like to know if there are any guns in that price range that are still decent but also need low mainanence

Lets say you buy everything at the top end of your budget.

Mask- JT Proflex

Loader- Z2/Rotor/Spire

Tank- 68/4500 Ninja

Gun- Empire Axe.

That would be what you should be shooting for. I would suggest getting some of it used, because you save a ton of money, and still get a great product in good condition.

mask- whatever is comfortable. seriously, try them aaall on
loader- spire, rotor, prophecy
tank- ninja w/ pro reg
gun- used supergun. you could get a tidy ego or bl for that price.

This doesn't matter for setups.

Mask- I4's, Flexes, Profits, whatever fits you best.
Tank- Anything Ninja
Gun- If you want something new, go for an axe. If you want to buy used look for something like old bob longs, dye, or planet eclipse.
Loader- Rotor/Z2

It could.

Maybe the person plays at a "urban" style field and wants to use a Scenario style set-up like the etha with that bod kit.

maybe its a semi-only xball field and a infinity legend or an Alias would be an awesome fit without having to spend beyond $250.

If it has really no restrictions on markers, a RT Automag with ULT installed would make a great mower..

Where you play DOES matter.

You are right it "could" but it really doesn't.

If I was into scenario types of play I would use a speedball marker. If I was playing in tourneys then I would play with a speedball marker. If I was just going to be a weekend warrior then I would play with a speedball marker.
I would love to play with a Dye DAM in speedball so, no, IT DOES NOT MATTER WHAT YOUR PLAY STYLE IS. Al long as you are having fun with your marker then have at it.
