My quesiton is, if I use a 26in monitor (1080p), will the 1GB graphics card be incapable?

You would need a large resolution monitor for that card not to work. The cards max resolution is 4096x2160 using the HDMI ports which, I'm assuming, you will use. Most graphics cards today are designed around multi display graphics so for one display it will work flawlessly.

Not as a gaming PC. IIRC, the max a single HDMI port supports at 60 Hz is 1080. Which is fine for his needs, but your post is...misleading.
The 7770 isn't a tremendously great card. For 1080, you'd be MUCH better served with a higher end card, even if its just a 7850. A 6 core CPU isn't really needed or beneficial for gaming. Even if you decide to go AMD for the CPU (not the best of ideas, but W/E) you'll get higher frame rates with a quad and spending the extra money on a better graphics card.
What's your budget, and are you opposed to building yourself? Is this going to be a purely gaming build, or do you have other high demand tasks you need this to perform? What kind of performance are you looking for? Most games maxed running at 40 FPS, medium settings, etc.?
EDIT: I forgot, the 7790 is also a product now. Its also a better option for budget 1080 gaming.
