I have several friends who use motocross jerseys for paintball with no problems. Not so sure about hockey, tho; since their clothes are obscenely baggy to accommodate all the pads they wear.

Motocross jerseys work. They're almost the same as a paintball jersey (correct me if I'm wrong), just without the forearm padding.
