Its Old News, but its still worth posting.

http://68caliber.com/?p=5479

Quote

According to RGJ.com – a Reno Nevada paper – two men were arrested and charged with ‘unlawful discharge of an airgun’ for firing frozen paintballs off of a tenth story apartment balcony. The paper states that multiple pedestrians were hit.

These guys must have been reading about the game on www.how-to-F-up-paintball.com, the site that explains how to freeze your balls, raise your velocity, shoot unsuspecting civilians. The same company produces www.how-to-mess-up-your-life.com.

The comments on the article are interesting: the first one purports to come from one of the shooters, claiming that the news article distorts the facts because no people were shot. His proof is that he and his buddy were only charged with unlawful discharge, not assault with a deadly weapon.

Further on down someone makes the intelligent observation that Reno Indoor Paintball is a very short distance away from where these yahoos allegedly committed their act of unlawful discharge. You can read the whole sorry story HERE

I tried looking for the Site that is mentioned in the article, but its not listed.

They need to be charged with battery and intent to kill. No dicking around when it comes to something like that.

They do know its pretty much impossible to freeze paintballs right? They just get extremely brittle and break easier...
There's two kinds of people in this world when you boil it all down. You got your talkers and you got your doers. Most people are just talkers, all they do is talk. But when it is all said and done, it's the doers that change this world. And when they do that, they change us, and that's why we never forget them. So which one are you? Do you just talk about it, or do you stand up and do something about it?

People should be charged just for using monsterballs.
If you are under 18 and pay for your own gear, put this in your sig.

Its a weekday. I wake up and go to school. I get teased for being weird. I know every anwser to the test but decide to forget them. I get turned down for a date. I get home, listen to people screaming constantly. My brother is crying because he lost his game, my mom blames me and tells me to find it even though I never touched it. I go to bed after eating fried food I hate. I go to sleep to repeat the cycle. Now its a weekend. I show up to the field. For the next 5 hours Im a god

Don't be too sure about that. I'm wrapping up a test that may raise some eyebrows.

I imagine that whether or not a paintball will freeze depends entirely upon its composition. I mean...a thick, oily fill probably wouldn't freeze...but a thin, runny fill with more water in it just might.

This.

Monsterballs are oily, they don't freeze. Styker's are watery, they freeze. I've tested it.

If they're a watery fill, and cold enough, yeah, it could work. You can't put them in your freezer though, way too warm. You need liquid nitrogen.

yeah but they were probably shooting monsterballs out of a tippmann with its velocity at 400fps. Its like getting hit with a non-lethal beanbag round
