I haven't dazzled into paintball video TOO much yet, but speaking from a photography standpoint-
Weather sealed cameras are very nice. They are expensive, though.
What I like to do is take the blue painters tape like stick mentioned and put a strip of it on my buttons and around my lens mount. Once you know the camera well you shouldn't have an issue finding anything.

Just saying to the guys who said something on twixtor.. not for vegas (if i remmember correctly) and its cool, but not great at times..
since it basically interprets the frames in between the real ones, and makes it slower by adding to teh frame count..
just look at the canon camcorders.. they doo a good job
