OP Thread lock. idea

not sure if this has been mentioned before, but i think if the original posters of a thread were allowed to close there own thread, it would be a great idea. In the BST, sellers can close the thread on their own if they sell it, without having to use the report button or wait for a mod to stumble on it. in the club section, users can just close the club down if its dead or a new one has been made, and in other places with the OP thinks that the thread is getting out of hand, or does not like where its going, they can close it without having to contact a mod. I also think that only mods should be able to reopen the threads, even if the user did lock it. And maybe warns can be issued for misuse of this feature.
so what do you think?
so what do you think?

its not always as easy as "here now you can do this". It would be much more difficult to program the site so that the OP (and only the OP) could close a thread but only in the bst. Honestly, its so much easier for the mods to just hit a few buttons to close it for you
