Paypal WILL NOT protect you if you get scammed

the invoice says 555 xyz Ave.

if I ship to 111 abc Ave. he can claim I shipped to the wrong address and get his money back and the item. because Paypal doesn't know he really got the item.

Buyer want me to ship to an address other than his confirmed address.

I sold an item to a buyer in Canada. He has a confirmed address in paypal but is asking me to ship to another address. He says that he recently moved and can not change his address due to a problem with his credit card. Am I protected in any way if I ship an item to an address other than the one that paypal gives me? He is being very persistent that I ship this item to him and I am afraid that he is going to leave a neg. This item was also over a hundred dollars and the buyer only has 5 feedback. Any advice will be appreciated.

don't do it. I just got scam recently by ship to different address and buyer's bank reverse the payment transaction. I think someone hacked the buyer's account and therefore ask to ship to different address. The buyer may telling the truth, but you neven know. I lose alomost 280 and I need the back to buy gift. **bleep**.

if you do it, paypal will say YOU didnt ship it to him

him is the invoice address if you ship else way paypal thinks your scamming.
then he gets the gun AND the money

I have items shipped to NY all the time and I'm in Canada. But I always change the ship to address in paypal when submitting my payment so that there is no question as to where its coming.


Just saying, not sure if that helps or if paypal would assist then because its clearly listed as the ship to address when sending money

There are some situations in which an address cannot be confirmed that are legitimate, for example, in my situation, I am off to college and I cant change the address on my card, and I am not going to get a new local card. What I have done is explained the situation on the paypal invoice, and the one person who was unsure googled the address I gave him, and I took a picture in front of the building with PBN/screen name/ and date on it.

Something that just happened to a buddy of mine, a person bought an item from him, and payed through PayPal. This wasn't paintball related at all, just to let you know. The buyer told him the address of where to send the item, and he shipped it out to that address. But the person wasn't confirmed with an address. So when the person filed a dispute, or claim, even though he shipped through the Post Office and gave them a Delivery Confirmation number, the buyer never dropped the claim, and because there was no address associate with the transaction, it was found in favor of the buyer. My buddy had the funds reversed, and is out $1250 with no way to pay it back.
