I had a few minutes to spare today enjoy reading some older posts and I ran across one that got me thinking..

if you do make burrs then you have a paintball shotgun

Paintball shotgun.. hmmm.

Humor me for a minute... Take a paintball, double its size and instead of filling it with paint, fill it with X-number of smaller paintballs.
First problem I could see is the main paintball would have to be very thin and designed so that the force of the air would break it apart so the "shot" would be dispersed.

Another option would be to skip the whole large paintball and dump a bunch of smaller balls into the breach, but how would you keep them from rolling out the front of the barrel..?

Yes, I understand this may not be practicable but in CQB that could be a blast. Anyway.. Im just thinking out loud.

Ive thought of this before, one way it could be done is to have a kinda like a plastic disc with 3 round slots where 3 paintballs could go, the barrel of the gun would be a very large bore (like ''1.5) and the disc could be loaded through a magazine. The disc would be similair to the cyclinder in a revovler but not as long since paintballs arent as long as bullets.

maybe it could be done like some of the airsoft shotguns with 3 barrels with like 50cal or 43cal paint.

the only issues i could see would be that it would be massive, heavy, hard to load, expensive to produce and most likely horribly unreliable

Put a little cylyndrical container with a bunch of mini pellets in a barrel, bam shotgun.

The mini pellets would have paint of course...

Metadyne Havoc Launcher, paper cup, and paintballs. Thats about the best way i can think to do it with out making something specialty or with multiple barrels.

No...stick metal rod in porting. Ducktape. Shotgun.
Or you could do what we do with mortars and have a small plastic ziplock filled with paintballs. We shoot them, yet the only thing we've hit is the guy inside the open roof house.

You could use those rap4 .68 cal grenades and feed them through this grenade launcher...

There is the Goblin shells. FS/regular paintballs could be slugs and you could load the airsoft shells with 6mm paintballs

Wax Slugs, they are used in real shotguns make a spherical .68 Cal mold fill it with 6mm paintballs then hold it together with a light wax. Load them through a shake and shoot and hope that they break apart in the barrel?
