I'm looking into getting a SL-68 II V.2

To prevent roll-outs, I was planning on getting the stock barrel or a J&J Ceramic barrel honed to accept Freak inserts.
It came to my ears that this might not be a good idea there the o-ring on the bolt could grab the insert and pull it into the breech !

Sounds possible ? - Any "Mythbusters" out there ?

Is there an other option for sale, other then using nailpolish or tape.

Possible, there isn't much of a lip in the marker to stop the barrel. Might be too large to grab a freak insert if the bolt catches it.

Get me a half decent measurement of the diameter of a freak insert and I could check it.

That's a NOGO ! :-) If I would like to do that, I wouldn't put up this post. capiche ? (no offends)
I would just prefer not to give up a perfect barrel in the process of trying out something that has a good change to go wrong.

your going to need to run your pull through, from the back of the gun out through the front.

Yes, if you shove a swab into the gun, you will most likely push the insert into the gun

Personally, I don't think a freak insert is a good option for this gun, I'd go with a standard tight bore barrel if you can find one for this gun

I have a very well performing open class Phantom. Just love Tippmann and would like to sport it on the sup'air and speedball fields. You think tape detent will have an influence on the flying path of the paint (wingers, corkscrews, etc...)

Maybe others can share their opinion on the tape detent and the influence it has on the paint.

I can't help you with the freak question, but tape detents work great for being free. I puy them on my .689 cp classic barrel on my pump!

Sadly, such a thing does not exist. You could try to find a small bore barrel and mill the threads off, but it has to be able to fit inside the pump arm, yet still be thick enough for the slip fit to grab it.

Well.....You could always get the barrel milled "tight". This is how it was on my phantom barrel. The insert was VERY hard to remove. I actually never got it out :P I blame Sasquach!
