Thread adapter, or the BT4 uses Tippman threads.

The BT4 uses Tippmann A5 threads, so you'd need an A5 Flatline.

No. The BT4 has the same barrel adapter front that the A5 has. The A5 Flatline comes with its own barrel adapter piece attached to it, so you'd take the adapter out of the BT4, and put the Flatline adapter in, just like you would on an A5.

They're both nice, but the Apex is adjustable, so you can hook shots around corners and over things; and the Flatline just puts a steady amount of spin on each ball, so you get relatively more consistent shots.

I have both a flat line On my a5. And an apex I can use on my mag or e1 or trracer.

For me I love the flat line. It's got great level shot. So ya don't need to arc ya shots as much allowing a bit easier aiming. That being said it's a bit more time consuming to clean in the event of a barrel break as you need to loosen a couple receiver screws to remove it.

The apex on the other hand takes some getting use too for longer shots you actually have to aim up a bit more witch personally I find a bit annoying. But it does work and allows for adjustability and trickish shots. It also can be put on pretty much any marker unlike the flatlines. Add in that barrel removal is easy as zny other barrel and its a great little tool to have. But some times the tip can be a PITA to get off the barrel to fully clean it after a days play.

So both have there ups an downs. Personally I prefer shooting my flatline as the easy aiming is my preferable trait. But I feel if ya master the use of the apex it can really be formidable on the field.

Apex on a flatline. Lol jking. I prefer apex. It allows for better control of the field especially in woods/scenario. Rinse with water. Get a barrel adaptor from flask or deadlywind. Problem I have is that it makes the barrel too long and I tend to have gunk dirk stuck in the tip from lowering your marker.
Ive only tried the flatline. Can't say much about it besides being really good at making straight shots. Takes some work to clean compared to the apex. Incompatible with other barrel types.

Overall apex wins because it allows you to do other shots previously unreachable. Whereas flatline only goes straight
