If u like your mini but want a bit more out of it, get an axe. I will say that the reflex has better ergos but I don't really mind the axes at all. The reflex will also be a bit quieter and smoother since it is a spoolie. I would also look into an alien invasion which is about 600 with a virtue board from alien I believe.

Why do you say the axe over the proto reflex.

You are asking for an opinion and you are getting mine. If you don't like it, you can take it or leave it. My advise.

Spoiler

The Axe is:
Smooth
Efficient
Easy to clean
Easy to maintain
Not overpriced

To not be a dick, and to answer your original question.
The axe is great. Really, it is. Its a good performing marker. Great trigger, great shooter. It will get the job done. It comes down to what you want more from a gun. An axe isn't quite as smooth as a relfex rail, it is close, but its also not quite as quiet. It is however, more efficient by about 2 pods The ergos are either love hate. I prefer the reflex rails ergonomics, but if you have a mini the difference isn't that big with the axe.
What made the difference for me was the goodies they came with. The reflex rail comes with a nice case, nice 2 piece barrel, lube, allen keys, a better warranty, and i just think it looks way better.
Get the one based on what you want.

No.

My Axe shot like butter compared to the 2 reflexes on the field that day.

you don't need low pressure for the drone. It works with any tank output.

Drone doesn't need an l.p. tank and shoots butter.
Out of the box with no tuning I'm giving the smoother shot to the reflex, but you can tune/upgrade either. The axe has a wealth of upgrades you can do the relfex rail only really has one or 2. I tend to stay away from upgrades

I currently own both -- a 2011 Reflex Rail and a 2011 Empire Axe. They are both awesome guns and you can't go wrong with either one. I personally like my axe better, but its all about personal preference. Just a heads up though, the Reflex is bigger in your hands than you might realize if you are used to shooting a Matrix Rail or a Mini.
