If you've seen any video of a tournament you might have noticed that all the players wear their pod pack over their jersey. Is this done to buff of the jersey so it acts more like a cushion to maximize potential bounces? I was told that its better to wear your jersey over the "belt" of your pod pack so you have a batter chance of getting a bounce off it.

^ That should explain most of it. I wear it longsleeve, pod pack, jersey with edges tucked into pack.

I always did it so my jersey wouldn't flap around, but I thought about trying jersey over pack.

It's in the rules because what happen is if you got shot under your jersey, the jersey would just end up covering it up. Same reason why u can't wear a short sleeve in a tournament

In rec ball, wearing your jersey over your pack is better.

I always thought most guys wore jersey over pack, but I was wrong. It is a solide reason, but I now think I'm going to start pulling my jersey out in back. Most guys seem to let the bottom of their jersey hang above/on their pack.

you get more bounces with a baggy jersey, so having it tucked under the pack helps from things getting too billowy
The ultimate truth in paintball is that the interaction between the gun and the player is far and away the largest factor in accuracy, consistency, and reliability.

Rules, also if your hopper breaks down it is illegal to leave it 6 feet away from you, so they shove it in their jersey and keep playing.
