I have one and its great! Ergo's are nice and it shoots very smooth. Well worth the money in my opinion.

Used older gun over both of them. Like a protege or a ego or dm6

Mini will be more efficient. The Rail only gets 6-7 pods per 68/4500. Plus there are more upgrades for the mini.

I've never shot the Rail, and i've heard it's pretty smooth, but I shot a v1-2 mini a while ago, and it shot amazingly.
Swap my Ego 11 parts! OG green for white, black, silver etc.... http://www.techpb.co...1

The Rail is smooth... I don't like it's efficiency though. Don't know much about the Mini. :P

The rail and mini are both better choices than the g4. I was in the same situation. Choosing between Rail, eXTCy, Mini and G4. I chose the Rail, the mini felt weird and was too expensive, G4 had too many out of the box problems(from reivews), and the eXTCy is heavier and is smart parts basically

Used DM6. Explain to your friend the benefits of buying used early so he doesn't get too far in the hole, I'm sure money is an important consideration if he's eying up these two markers, and you want him to get as much value for his money as possible.

G4's leak like crazy... go with the mini or rail. personal preference though.
Small hands: MINI
Bigger hands: Rail
And...
Also go used on the mini. lots of people don't like them for their size and will try to move them fast. picked mine up for $200 and it had a relay and a techt bolt.

You gas up the marker, strap on the mask, and walk onto the field... It doesn't matter that you failed a test, that your girlfriend broke up with you last nite, all that matters is your in your world next 2 hours. Live it. Love it. Paintball <3

Buying used depends on the situation. Purchasing a used gun for a birthday present would not be a good idea. If its for christmas or some special event you should buy new unless you asked your friend and they say used is ok. But if you just helping a friend decide what to get than try to have them buy used.

Rail over Mini in my opinion. Rail is smooth as butter.

This guy knows where its at. I love my G4 and my friend has a mini. I like my G4 better but the mini is better then the rail.
It is not my prerogative to please you.

I love my rail. The trigger sucks for walking but the gun is super simple and smooth. and I like the steel braided hose, especially cause it's my first electro and I don't have to worry about leaks from a macro line

Depends on where you live; If you live in Canada or north Usa where it can be cold then get the reflex rail. I live in Canada and I've already seen many minis break down in the winter. The reflex rail is also going to be smoother and feel better.
