I've made two threads I spent a long time in hopes of helping new players, however if they aren't stickied they will quickly be lost. I've gotten several users in each thread saying they think it deserves a sticky, but the mods don't seem to share the same opinion, can you tell me why?

well im no expert but over my time:

Usually the moderators will pin a subject if they deem it useful enough/something which is important (not saying what you wrote is a waste) although things come and go, there are plenty of members who constantly do these write ups. generally if the topic is commonly debated enough there is no need to sticky andything as the information is always on the first page.

People will say "sticky this" all the time, in the end its up to the moderators. and yes, plenty of times your stuff will be lost. like me or other members you can always link the post in your signature for reference.

good luck.

Plus, if they stickied every informative post, even just the well written ones, you would lose most, if not all of the first page of each sub forum to sticky spam.

We don't sticky the threads of self-important banned members. Sorry!
Gerber, Surefire, TOPS, and Cold Steel all suck the big one. Buy quality products, not junk. :-)
