2 or 3 "paintball safety" questions to answer when you try and make an account. Do that funny lettering thing so the bots can't read it easily and have it rotate between 10-15 different questions. Just a thought.

Some of them have gotten up to like 40 posts, and I think avoiding another porn bot would be a good idea...

We are working on it and in the mean time just keep reporting these bots so we can address the issue immediately.

We currently use Captcha the system that does the words jumbled. But this system has been hacked and they are working on a new version or a patch for their current system. We currently have this in place, but they have hacked it so theyhave found a loop hole and are exploiting it.

In regards to the questions and making a system, I guess you have no idea the length to create a good script to be integrated with the current system for registering new users. Just a hint, not an easy task.

At the same time we have been working on an updated version and rather focus on completing that at this time, then pulling resources to work on this while we need to have the new version completed.

Thanks for the support.

We will get through this.

It's actually not that difficult because, IP board uses PHP so that's what it would have to be written in. It would use an echo function with a couple variables and then some else(); else if(); statements.

I know vBulletin comes with a built-in option for a text based question rather than captcha and I do believe IP board has the same option, I would have to look. Captcha is terrible and reCaptcha isn't any better, the only way to be rid of spam bot accounts is us a real world question and answer for human verification. An example would be "What is 2+2?" and if the registering user enters anything other than "4" or "four", then they are rejected.
