no difference except for the price, the grey tanks are cheaper.

Hey there, I have a quick question

some history first....
Lent out my 50/4500 to my buddy. at the end of the day he decides to unload his hopper at a wall and all of a sudden we both hear all this air escaping from the tank. removed the bonnet, cleaned up everything inside and went to get it filled with air. It held air just fine. I went to use it the next weekend and all the air was gone.

Here's the question.

From my description, what do you think could be causing a slow leak? I'm thinking old pin valve?

any help would be appreciated!

Thanks

Fill the tank and dunk the reg underwater, the bubbles will show the exact location of the leak.

the first leak you described is from the piston and make sure you lube the piston o-rings when you reassemble it. if it still leaks then replace the piston with a new one from a rebuild kit.

I've got a very visible crack in the clear coating of my tank. How much does repair cost?

Ray.... so i removed all the red shims from my reg... worked like a champ when i had my G6R and other bob long markers.

now i need to turn back into a high pressure reg for my 6.5.... but i forgot how many red shims i had removed (facepalm here)...... will it hurt if i put in two red shims? silver shims are still in the reg. (i've done it to 2-3 regs, and kept all the red shims so i dont remember anymore). also i do have a reg/tank output tester so i can measure.

thanks again for the help.

Start with two red shims and then hook it up to your tester. If the pressure is too low, add a shim, if it's too high, remove a shim.

Just put in 2 red thick shims and you will be at 800 psi for the 6.5. Do not more as this may cause the bd to pop.

Hey Ray, looking at buying a couple of 13/3000's with a Tiberius T9.1. My question would be what is the optimal output pressure for use with the T9.1?

The normal 800 hp pressure will be fine for the Tiberius

Is it 100% impossible to increase the operating pressure on a SLP reg?

Hi Ray I had a question the orings on my Ninja 68/4500 have broke I think. Heres the story. I screwed the tank on my Extcy and turn the ASA ON and

it leaked. So I took it out and did the same thing again, and it was still leaking. Then I remebered that I was having issues with my ASA and had

it fixed 2 weekends ago. Screwed it in on my PMR and no leaks or nothing. The tank gauge said empty so how would it be leaking and whats wrong

with it?

Check the o rings on the top of the reg and keep them lubed will also help

As far as the gauge you could be out of air? Fill it up and try it again.

Ray! at last PSP NJ I bought a used 50/4500 with a new reg. It's been treating me well so far it's just that I must have misplaced the spare tools kit with the manual and bonnet remover tool. Is it possible for you to ship that out to me? Also, is the optimal pressure for marq's around 500-550 or is it higher. I want to know how many shims I should take out to get the optimal pressure. Move the tanks they are great, keep up the good work.

The bonnet tool is a 10/32 machine screw which you should be able to find at any hardware store. The Allen wrench is a normal 3/32. Check locally first as it would be cheaper than shipping them.

Fo rather marq it depends on the reg but most work well at the 500-550 range so a normal ninja remove the 2 red shims.

THanks for the help. It's got a CP long reg. I'll be sure to stop by my local hardware store for the machine screw
