Actually, it is accelerating into her. It's just not accelerating into her in a positive direction. Acceleration is acceleration, whether it's in the same direction of motion (speeding up), or in the opposite direction of motion (slowing down). So the ball is accelerating the entire time, it's just a positive acceleration while in the barrel, and a negative acceleration after it leaves the barrel.

On another note...i'm assuming the "victims" went to the hosptial and threw it so out of proportion maybe for a lawsuit?

Either way...it's stupid. Yes, the person should be held responsible...but really..the hospital? I'd understand if she got shot in the face..but in the chest?
