a milsim player with all his gear was arrested yesterday...

LINK

i used google to translate the page and made edits due to rubbish translation Posted Image but the pictures speak for themselves

ON 22/12/2011 AT ABOUT 2235HRS, ACTING ON INFORMATION of firearms, a police team from DIVISION OF SPECIAL INVESTIGATION (D9), raided a KUALA LUMPUR
HOTEL (1) MEN AGED 34 YEARS IN THE ROOM. GOODS seized

MARKER BOX CASE BLACK COLOR,
ONE REMOTE LINE,
ONE MILSIG MARKER TYPE C-SERIES,
FIVE AMMO MAGAZINES
ONE GAS cylinder (STAKO PAINT BALL),
ONE LOADER,

PLASTIC CONTAIN(233) pellets,
CAVEY ONE HANDLE,
MARKER BAG Brand VEATURE TUK,
ONE TYPE OF MARKER Tiberius barrel of a gun T9.1 Siri NO: T9.1-351 NO PATEAT6,892,718,

TIBERIOUS AMMO MAGAZINES
USED PLASTIC CONTAIN 193 pellets,
BROWN BAG COLOR.

Person ARRESTED under Section 8 Firearms Act 1960. arrested and seized items brought to Police Headquarters of Kuala Lumpur for further investigation

Sad truth since there is no provision in our law which separates paintball markers from firearms, this is the risk that woodsballers face here.. however from the photos it can be seen that the player took precautions and kept his markers in bags and cases.

weird to see this happen as the police and government are usually very supportive of paintball and there are even police officers who play Posted Image

not good for the fledgeling Mil-sim community here :(

Hilarious that a couple of PAINTBALL markers warrant a press conference. Those cops must have some kind of public PR battle they're trying to win.

I could see it if those were real weapons, but there's pods of paint, no bullets. Nothing's worse than a bunch of fucking cops with something to prove.

The police drop the charges already. :)
please be careful when carrying your mil-sim marker into the hotel room. someone might take a "quick look" inside your bag when doing the house keeping :dodgy:

Overreaction much? I can understand the hotel staff or general public overreacting. But the police overreacting in taking him in custody and seizing his personal property. If it is feasible to sue I would spend every penny sueing the police department for their mistake that could potentially screw up my life. It's even more hilarious that they have a press conference with everything laid out on the table like its a major drug bust or something.

The cops were called in on suspicion that someone had a REAL firearm, like the ones that kill people. A police officers duty is to protect the people, they don't bullshit with that. Because if they don't, whos to blame, they are. Its better to be safe than sorry.

I bet those cops were licking their chops at the chance to confiscate those markers and go play themselves, lol.

It's cool to hear that this is ending well.
