this thread might have been more useful if you had asked this before you made the trade.
both guns are great, both are equally great for different reasons.
ego is super efficient, very light, and pretty much bomb proof in every way.
dm7 will just be a considerably smoother gun to shoot. on paper you might wonder why anyone would ever shoot a spoolvalve gun over a poppit, but once you shoot the DM, you'll understand why so many people decide to use a spoolvalve gun.
personally, i think you should've gotten a dm8, but the dm7 is a great gun. i just bought one a couple of weeks ago after selling my luxe.

I had an ego08 but still have a '74.
Recently picked up a DM7 as my first DM.
Both are very good guns but it falls mainly to the poppit/spool debate.
The Ego08 has the ease of maintenance, efficiency and LCD screen
The dm7 has a quiet and smooth shot and you can fine tune it more than a spool without an LPR (if you're a tinkerer)
