I own a Daschund, He is very close to the family, he only likes us or other people he knows REALLY! well. So i advice you to train your dog to respect people. My dog is an ass and he bit my friends lip. Was a bad cut but i understand he invaded his space. But i look back and my parents treated him to softly. So train the little pup and make him understand respect. Take the time trust me he will love everyone and youll be happy with you dog. Other than that love it and have fun with it. Mine loves to play outside. When he goes out in the backyard he gets a old tuque i gave him and runs for the longest time lol.

Hang a bell by the bottom of the door to get out side. Every time you take him (or her) out, ring the bell. Eventually (s)he will learn to ring the bell when (s)he wants to go out. Your friends will then be impressed with how smart your dog is. It worked with my Lab and then later with my Olde English Bulldog.
