For one thing, I know how sweat-soaked the foam is after a day of play. I personally wouldn't want to be sticking a strangers sweat sponge on my face for hours on end.
Also, you have no idea how old the lens is, or in what shape it's in. For all you know, it's a 5 year old lens that's taken 100's of hits and is on the verge of disintegration. Not only is this dangerous, it means you're gonna be paying another $30 for a new lens.
I get that money isn't the easiest thing to come by, but paintball is an expensive sport, and while there are many ways of cutting back expenses, your mask it NOT something you want to skimp out on.

If you're under 18 and pay for your gear, put this in your sig.

Edit: After further testing of my Vantages there are NO signs of fogging only when I blew directly on the lens. That will never happen though because the foam blocks a lot of the air from going up to the lens.

Very true, I would spend at least 60 on a mask, buy a high end mask.
