Hey guys,I have a sort of noob question. My old steelie went out of hydro about 6 months ago,and want a 48/4500 for some spare air/backup tank/pump tank, and was wondering this:can I get one of those cheap GAS air tank along with the standard reg, take the reg off my old steelie, and put it on the new tank?Basically,I'm asking if I can use the reg even though the tank is out of hydro.

Far as I know, you can reuse a reg without it needing addtional testing. Long as it's rated for the new tank. Using a 3k rated reg on a 4.5k tank leads to bad things, I believe. Someone correct me if I'm wrong.

The old steelie reg is only rated up to 3000psi
You can reuse it but can't fill the tank to 4500

The reg itself is fine on either tank, the issue is the burst discs. The burst discs on the 3k reg are not the same as the ones on a 4.5k reg. I just wouldn't worry about it, and get a reg that was meant for 4.5k.

The standard reg will work fine, but as always I recommend a Ninja pro adjustable reg.
