I say GOG just because I have never shot a DM7.

DM7, it is a supergun, and will hold up better than a low end. And Dye has made very few changes between the DM's thought the years, so it will shoot similar to a DM13.

Do you have an extcy?

Have you shot any of the dm's?

Had, and I shot a DM12 but I cannot compare the shot.

Was your gog reliable and well I guess... Was it good?

Tallsmallboy is it going to be reliable. What kind of cleaning should I have to do just lube before and after I'm done playing for the day?

It was a great shooter for the price. It is fairly easy to fix if it goes down.

Shot a DM12 last week, and my best friend has an eXTCy. The DM was rediculously smooth, quiet, and light. The eXTCy is smooth, heavy, and pretty quiet.

I do realize I shot a DM12, not a DM7, but Dye has not made any drastic changes to the DM line, as far as my knowledge goes.

I haven't had an electronic gun yet so I'm kinda "scared" to clean it and fix it and stuff. Which would be easier to clean the eyes and bolt and anything else. Like replace the detents and stuff?

Maintanence should be very easy on both guns after you do it a few times, cleaning the eyes and detents is just a matter of taking the eye covers off, and I cannot speak on cleaning the bolt engine, but should not be too difficult as long as you have the manual.

Yes it is simple to do. You just have to do it a few times to get fully comfortable to fix it.
I know the feeling you have.

Whenever I get new markers I take it apart without the manual and try to put it back together.

Get it used with a macroline attached.

Is it steel braid?

The eXTCy comes with steel braided hose stock, but it isn't necessary to change it to macroline untill it begins to wear out.

I shot both I had a dm7 and the other I shot at cup. They're both smooth but I would go with the dm7 by a long shot. Its a super gun.

The DM7 will be just as reliable as the extcy, if you found a good deal on one then jump on it. You will love it. It will feel much better than the extcy, shoot smoother, and just plain be better in most areas. Always take the used supergun over a new lowend.

Just a couple more thoughts:

You can run CO2 with the Extcy. The DM is HPA only.
The DM is dual-regulated, so if you're a twiddler, you can tweak your shot quality by adjusting your LPR and dwell.
If you haven't already, you really want to hold both guns. The Dye UL frame is the most comfortable grip I've held. Personal preference, of course.

this thread went on WAY too long before people started recommending the DM7.

The DM7, when it debuted, was THE spool valve gun to own. To this day it remains a lot of people's favorite rendition of the DM.

The GOG is pretty much a low-end marker targeting newer players who aren't really able to discern the difference between lower-end and higher-end guns. the dm7 was a super gun made to very strict standards and with a high degree of finish.
you 100%, absolutely would be a moron if you chose the GOG over the DM7(assuming its NIB and similarly priced like you suggested).
