So I just got fraps, I've done some recording, but I get a hum and static from my mic.

The only solution I've found that works is touching my case, that makes the hum go away, but the static is still there.

Ummm, what headset do you have?

usually most mic headsets will have some issue unless you correct it in post production
Its just something you get with not too quality mics.. a good headset mic isnt good compared to like a good stand alone mic..

If you touch your case and it goes away it sounds like a grounding problem.

What kind of microphone do you have?

Turle beach earforce z1, it's crappy. I just want to know if this is actually the headset or if there is another issue to worry about before I buy something nicer
