ok guys im a new player to paintball kinda, anyways im coming back to the sport and things have changed alot since my days. after searching i seem to like the spoolie type markers and wanted to know which would be a good marker for me, ive narrowed down to a few brands,GOG Extcy, PE Etha, Invert Mini, Valken Proton, DP G4, im trying to stay under the $300 range in price due alot to also needing gear. this marker will be used for speedball and some rec/woods play. anyhelp would be great.

Just to clarify the invert mini is a poppet but its a solid gun but would u be open to buying used?

I would buy used if it kept me in my price range and style marker. Sorry I forgot mini and etha or a poppit style but I do like the single tube design.

Well used u could get a nice empire axe for maybe 300-325 check the BST here they have good deals

You could probably find a Bob Long Marq or Protege for under $300 but an Axe is a great choice too. Hold all the guns youre thinking about at a field or proshop and shoot them if possible. A big part of choosing a marker is personal preference.

The last gun I used before I stopped playing was a Smart Parts ION I loved it a lot but there hard to find

If you liked the ion, the gog extcy is a great choice. Same bolt design, but every other part of the gun is upgrade. Nicer feedneck, regulator, board, asa, easier disassembly for maintenance, and the such. I own one and its a great gun for the money if you are buying new. Lots of bang for your buck.

My only gripe is the stock trigger. I don't like the shape of it. But that's all personal preference. If you don't like it, swap it out with a violent series trigger and you are set.

Also check out the proto rail, it is somewhat similar to an ion.

Best spools under 300 are the shocker, DM7, and quest. You could probably pick up a marq for under 300 too, but those are inline poppits.

the pm8 was just a pm8. it wasn't a dm8 or a dm9.
it used a different LPR system from both the 8 and 9, and despite the misconception it uses the same bolt as the dm9, it still didn't have the same internal milling the dm9 had to take advantage of the smaller bolt system.
