i recently bought a matrix and i know this is gonna sound bad but i cant get the bolt out. i can take the pin, the plate, the back cap, the breech and the eyes off but there is a ring type thing that is holding the bolt in the gun itself and i dont know how to get the ring off the gun.

What type of Matrix? like a dye matrix, proto matrix or an older matrix.

Hmm I'm not sure what kind of ring you're talking about. Could you describe it more or post a pic.

It doesn't sound like a PM or DM is it an older matrix?

That's the front bolt casing. Pull the bolt tail and it all comes out.

ok its a pre dm3 matrix lcd. it has a ring type thing that has 2 smaller rings on it. it keeps the bolt from moving forward when i try to take it out.

it seems to lock up when pulled from the back... also i always thought matrixes were bolt out the front.

"Step 3: On to the bolt. Place your 1/4 inch allen wrench into the backwall and unscrew it
Now, do not pull the bolt out from the rear, as you can damage the plunger on the bolt. Instead, push from the front using your finger or a squeegie.
