What is the best paint for paintball?

Depends on the gun if you are shooting a high end and don't mind spending money my opinion would be GI 5 star I personally haven't shot 5 star but I have shot 3 star and it was the best paint I have ever shot. Pretty much look at the gun you have and buy accordingly if you have a tippmann your gonna wanna shoot a thicker shell or else you'll just break it all a midrange (excluding axes they can shoot everything for some reason) get GI 3 star IMO. You also have to think of were you are I'm in Canada so the paint could be completely different for you. Try out different paint and see what works best with you in your area.

Once you get into high grades is pretty much personal preference.

I really like Valken paint, Redemption and Graffiti are my favorite to shoot.

It often depends on how far you are from the factory as well, I know GI paint is utter trash here, but a large percent of tournament teams shoot GI.

It's also going to depend on how you intend to use it, for speedball type games you will want a brittle paint with good break-ability. In the woods you will want something with a bit of a thicker shell that will make it through the twigs and branches without breaking.

All you can do is try out pant and find the one that A) is regularly available to you and B ) Is allowed at your field and C) suits your needs

It depends on a 3 things:
How well can your marker handle brittle paint.
How much money you're willing to spend.
How fresh it will be from the factory in comparison to where you live.

That being accounted for, I normally prefer Empire and RPS paint, mostly due to the fact I get discounts on them. Marbalizers I found to be nice if your gun cannot handle super brittle paint, and Ultra Evil is great if it can. For general use/minor tourney's/practices, I favor RPS Premium or Empire Custom Blend (same thing, just different color fill/shell). I do like the new Dye paint, however, though I believe it to be nostalgia on my part.
I have used GI 5 star once, and I liked it as well.


But it's Empire and RPS for me. Just not All-star. I hate All-Star.

me and my team have been shooting arrix black, and be fore that we shot evil, and so far i like arrix better.... not to mention that its significantly cheaper.... arrix is a smaller company, but they have quality product

Freshest paint you can get.

Even a mid grade that is fresh will shoot better than a highend paint that is old.

I would say the more expensive your gun, the more expensive your paint should be. Fortunatley in Canada during winter time spectrum and even bomber becomes Evil
