Hey everybody,

I recently (or not so recently anymore) graduated college and moved to Los Angeles. With slightly more money than when I was in college, I was looking at getting back into paintball, hopefully getting a chance to play every other weekend or so. The biggest issue for me is that the closes field seems to be about an hour and a half away, and three hours of driving is going to add up in my gas bill. I mean, paintball is going to be a big enough strain on my budget :P. Does anybody know a good website/other where I might be able to hook up with some other ballers to carpool with? Or better yet, have some free space and could use a little gas money for the trip yourself? I'm pretty close to around the LAX airport. Thanks for checking out the thread everybody.

If ur close to LAX then the drive to California, Warped, or Field of Fire is about 45 minutes so its not that bad.

Yeah, I hadn't tried it yet so I thought it would be more like an hour and a half drive (google maps, you have failed me for the last time!). Thanks for the advice, I'll head out in the next few weeks.

I live in Westchester, pretty close to both LAX and Layola Marymount University.

HSP is your closest field, around 13 miles via 105-E FWY

Thanks for the advice everybody. I'm not particularly picky at the moment, as I just really want to play without having to drive too much.

You mean HSP.

You have choices on which way you want to drive. Head East and you will find HSP (13-15 miles), SC Village (40-44 miles) and Jungle Island (60-65 miles). Going north you have Field of Fire (45 miles), Paintball USA (53 miles), CPP and Warped (55-58 miles).

Your best bang for buck, especially if you play pump and want to play during the week is HSP. Their paint prices are high, especially considering what you are paying for. The best day to go is Friday since you and BYOP only on that day.

Yeah, I was looking how crazy the prices are around here. It looks like most places cost about $35 for a day of play/air and around 15-20 for a bag of paint (on the weekends at least). Are there enough people playing on weekdays to make it worth it?

During Summer and holidays, yes. Definitely Friday at HSP.

My son and I play most every week-end and live in the LA area, we have played at all of the fields mentioned. I could not disagree more with your assessment of CPP, quite the contrary, I think it is the very best field in the Los Angeles area. The playing fields are good, well maintained and the lay-outs are interesting. The check-in staff in professional and efficient. The referees are well trained, friendly and in control. The pace of play is fast, so you get a lot of games. The crowds are reasonable and very friendly. Even the taco truck that arrives at lunch time is very good.

The only thing to complain about is the hill between the parking lot and the fields.

I would like to hear what you think is not good about CPP?
