Ok now I'm definitely going to be looking for one on craigslist.

Personally, I would look at a magnum, if you aren't in too big of a hurry. Or at least get the adapter to make it one. Having a tank at the front of it makes for a VERY front heavy gun.

And don't think adjusting the velocity on them is an easy job. You have to basically insert a special screwdriver down into it and turn the valve from the 12 oclock, to the 3 oclock, to the 6 oclock or the 9 oclock, depending on how fast or slow you need to go. Hitting 280 ft/sec exactly normally doesn't happen. Most of the time it seems like it is at 260 or 300 depending on how you have the valve set. Once it is there though, 90% of the time, you won't need to adjust it again. And run c02...not compressed air. They don't like air.

from my understanding, the difference between a "PMI-3" and the "VM-68" was the VM-68 had a sight rail, and had the body drilled on the left side for the back bottle attachment (with the hose)

The VM-68 always came in solid black, the PMI-3 came in that black and silver drip anno

The PMI-3 was what the fields used for rentals, the VM-68 was the "cooler" version that was used by regular players

You are still forgetting the removal of the safety knob, the shorter cocking slot etc that made the PMI-3 into the VM-68, the early VM-68's also had the silver/black dripping/splash anno or however you call that.

Run 3 tanks and you're set for 2 games.
