Work on being able to snapshoot while you're down on your knees.
Communicate with your teammates: situational awareness is everything in the snake.
Work on diving and low crawling: getting to your bunker is half the battle.
Most importantly, don't quit.

Using a gun that's been hardly maintained and tossed from person to person more than a village whore is hardly a fair way to compare the marker.

It has a taller profile than other loaders, but it won't matter that much, if you know what you are doing.

I'll copy and paste some tips I wrote for another user:

The general strategy isn't too difficult with snake.

Step 1: Actually get in the snake. Some fields you may go directly there off the break some fields you may go to an insert off the break and bump later on. Just make sure you watch down field so you can have an idea on where the paint is coming from and where the other team is going.

Step 2: Shoot inside. This is where all your shots are going to be. pretty simple.

Step 3: Move up. Then repeat step 2. You'll need to trust your corner and really work with him to get this done.

Now I admit, this isn't a very good "guide" but this is really the bare bones to snake there are a ton of videos on playing the snake online with good tips.

One mistake new snake players tend to make is getting in and panicking. There's paint whizzing over your head and your adrenaline is pumping and you pop up and get your head blown off. When you get in keep your head down for a second and LISTEN. Figure out where the paint is coming from and listen to your team so you have an idea where the are before you pop up.

Stay down and communicate with your snake corner. Call out positions often, elbow to knees help, dont headcheck too often without your gun, and check tape once in a while. Crawl with your dick dragging on the floor.

For the record my friend sometimes just by being in snake you can win your team the game everyone is so concerned by a player in snake that it opens up other parts of the field for your team mates. Communication is key because its going to be hard for you to see up and over the bunker in front of and to the side of you. Pay attention to everything going on around you and make sure you listen to your team mates.

PS A good pair of elbow pads will save you a lot of pain and frustration.

Also for the record, Size does not matter, I am 6'4 a good 270 and I play snake just fine.

stay alive

it's more important to stay alive, than it is to shoot out the other team

Let the other team focus on you, while your team focuses on shooting out the other team. You'll draw 2+ guns easily, so I'd spend 80% of my time tucked in, 20% of my time trying to shoot the other team out. Once they get bored of shooting at you and you not coming out, then you can try to pop off a couple shots.
