Dye rotor Versions? What is the difference

I don't understand why Dye is making different versions of their rotor? Can someone tell me

V1 had no battery velcro battery straps
V2 had battery straps
V3 had battery straps and the sharkfin, contrary to popular belief it's not to prevent jams it's to unjam the Rotor IF it jams.

Only V3's are presently manufactured.
