Friend of mine dropped 70 pounds in a year. He worked his ass off for it though and he went from wearing a XL t-shirt to a Medium...

I also need to lose weight. The more weight you lose, the better you feel.

Edit: Thanks for posting up your before and after pics.

Here's a pic from 16 weeks ago, I think it was September 22 http://t.co/yhbefHHk
And a pic from yesterday http://t.co/oegPLiE1

I was AT LEAST 330 in that first pic. I started eating better at the beginning of October, got a scale Oct 21, weighed in at 330. Since then, I've kept up on tue healthy eating amd started riding an exercise bike. I weighed in at 278 this morning. No looking back.

My next goal is to fit comfortably into an XL by LLVI.

NOTE: I realize I look like a douche...

Thanks Mike!! For any of you guys that are having trouble getting started, let me tell you that once you get going, it's really easy to keep going. I haven't had fast food other than the occasional Subway or Chipotle since October because I don't want to fuck up all that I've worked for. In other news, 248 this morning, and...

sweet shutts, i am doing basically the exact same thing, a week and a half in, lost 10, cheated one meal gained 3 Posted Image, switched from no breakfast, tons of soda and random junk for lunch, giant dinner, to eggs for breakfast, chicken for lunch, chicken for dinner, cut soda intake by 60% ~, working on getting that down to 0. but iwill say, not the easiest thing to start. but what you have done so fast is inspiring :D

Reading this thread and watching your TechPB vid has definitely got me a bit more interested in dropping some weight. Mike, how did you get motivated to begin your weight loss regimen? I think I've been pretty good about controlling intake, it's the additional output from working out that I need to add.

Like I said in the video, once you are overweight, you are now in the most discriminated against, hated, despised and ridiculed class of people. You will be ignored by people of the other sex, you will be passed over for job interviews, you will be passed over for promotions, you place yourself into a special class of discrimination.

You think women are discriminated against? You think black people, white people, asians, indians, eskimos, or (insert nationality here) are discriminated against?? The one thing they can ALL agree on, is that they ALLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLL hate overweight people, and have NO PROBLEM openly discriminating against them.

If that's not enough motivation to get your nutrition plan in order, I don't know what is.

You can't out train a bad diet, remember this

You don't technically NEED a gym to lose weight. I didn't step foot in a gym once when I lost weight. The gym is a tool

An hour in the gym, you are lucky if you burn 400 calories... that's one slice of pizza.

I'd spend 80% of your time, focusing on eating right. Eggs in the morning, chicken breast and broccli for lunch, chicken and broccli for dinner. Start with that

It takes 30 seconds to eat something, that can take 30 minutes to burn off. I can eat a Snickers bar in 30 seconds. I have to walk 3 miles to burn that off, that takes me about 40 minutes.

So just remember, you can't outtrain a bad diet, there is no physical way. Every 5 seconds of chewing, takes 5 minutes of work to burn off.

I have, just this week, gotten back on the wagon. I have eaten salads and sandwiches for lunch and dinner every day this week. No cheese most of the time. I ate some cookout food yesterday (but I had been planning that for that for over a month and I skipped a meal). I'm just trying to keep myself in line. I love Mexican food of just about any variety. It's so hard to stay away from it. But I can't keep up with the other people I play with so I have to do something and I like paintball more than I like food so I hope it'll be easy.

Sup fellow former fat buddy!
I was that fat guy who couldn't do any pushups. I was pushing 230, had horrible Tri-glycerides levels (900) and 200+ Cholesterol. This picture was a couple months before I went to LL3. I was barely able to play LL because of my weight and asthma
Posted Image

Now I am close to 180. I just finished a fitness test in Georgia this month, and I ran a faster sprint, higher bench, and kept up on the pushup and situps than a lot of the "fit" guys there. I've been working at a fast paced water heater warehouse for the past year. I call it my own personal crossfit workout, especially when we get a truck in with 150 heaters.

sadly this is the newest picture of me, in my old work shirt which does me no justice.
